Tropical Greenhouse Creative Photoshoot | Downtown Cleveland Ohio Photographer
It amazes me how even after living in Northeast Ohio for 8 years, I still find complete gems hidden in plain sight. Last weekend one of the local creatives I follow on Instagram, Lindsey, posted that she was going to be hosting a photography meetup at the Rockefeller Park Greenhouse in Cleveland.
Photography meetups are when a group of people get together to take photos. I love attending local meetups because they’re great ways to meet other people in my area with similar interests. This meetup had 8 attendees including me and 8 felt like the perfect number. Everyone was so kind too. I also love seeing how other photographers direct a subject with posing and encouragement. It’s crazy how many different styles people have when it comes to interacting with the subject of a photo and it’s so cool to see someone’s process from directing, shooting, and eventually editing a photo. Meetups are great for meeting new people, catching up with familiar faces, and maybe learning a thing or two about photography.
I’ve seen pictures of the Rockefeller Park Greenhouse but for some reason never actually checked it out for myself. This meetup was the perfect time to see what this greenhouse had to offer.
My favorite part of the greenhouse were the tropical flora and cacti exhibit. Walking through this greenhouse felt like I had left Ohio and was traveling through the desert or the tropics. It was hot inside too which I’ll remember for the cold Ohio days we have to come.
